Derny urban cyclewear http://t.co/3awEdNa3 @timgummer seen these guys? they rock.
I saw a write up on a blog about this NZ company that makes retro looking cycling gear..
So… I sent them an email because I am always looking for cycling gear that is bigger, and wondered if they had any. I got a reply back from Paul, the owner.
He apologised that they dont, due to manufacturing restraints, which I fully understand. He then noted that he did have a one off Jersey that was large and a demo for a product, and it was mine if I wanted it.
So.. I popped around (their office is 100m from mine it turns out), and met Paul and his wife, had a great chat about cycling and the industry. Got to have a look at next years range of kit and I have to say… its REALLY REALLY awesome.. Paul is inspired by Merckx and the other great riders of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s and from things like Mods and Rockers (think, quadrophenia..).
One jacket was really awesome, it looked like something I could wear on a motorbike (being a motorcyclist as well), but its a merino based windbreaker for the bicycle. Or in fact, just wearing about. Paul’s designs look stylish enough to just wear out if you want, he does…
So.. if you want some really stylish, comfy gear, that doesnt make you look like a moving billboard.. check out SOLO, and support a great NZ based company. You wont be disappointed. Keep up the good work Paul, you rock.

Isaiah 41:6 each helps the other and says to his brother, “Be strong! ” NIV
While in Thailand a couple of years ago I was told of an elderly man who sells shoe laces on a street corner. Every day you could see him there with his box of laces. As passers-by went past they would hear his words, “Shoe laces for sale. Please buy some shoe laces.” Though he was blind he would have preferred to have earned a living without begging, even so, he had to try and sell his laces to support himself. There he was huddled in a corner dressed in a shabby old coat, with a pair of smoky glasses covering his sightless eyes. In one hand he held a box of laces, while in the other there was a clue to his situation, a white cane. However around his neck was a sign that aroused the interest of all who passed by. It was a small metal plate on which was engraved, “It could be worse.”
This is just the kind of message that gives people a lift as they passed by, and so too it can help each of us. Whenever an irritating situation comes along that brings unhappiness, it would serve us well to think of someone in a less fortunate position and say, “It could be worse.” There is an opportunity every day to make life a little better that it was yesterday and to seek out exactly what God’s ultimate purpose for our lives really is. We should not let our time be dissipated by complaining because we seem to be worse off than our friends or family. Rather, we should give God thanks for an opportunity every day to seek His direction ensuring that we spend our time wisely.
Happiness is not a place to arrive at. If this was the case, when we arrived we would never move. Happiness is the attitude of an individual. Unfortunately it fluctuates, but it can grow deeper the longer we live if we are in a close relationship with our God.
Those who are inclined to be self-centred, whether an executive, teacher or labourer, are always in constant doubt because of worries, fears, jealousies and insecurities. Those who live courageously and selflessly have firstly come to terms with themselves, secondly with their surroundings and importantly with God. Whatever their situation they have accepted their lot, and with God’s help, make the most of their lives.
Remember “It could be worse, huh.”
To Ponder
If you are better off than others, have you then, more responsibility for others?

Right, so, on the radio today there was a lot of discussion about creation.
It really gets on my wick.. honestly.
If you are a Christian who does not believe God caused all things to exist (ie, create) raise your hand now..
The issue is this: the term “creationist” has been hijacked by a group of people who believe the earth is young (despite scientific evidence to the contrary). This is all well and good, but whether the earth is young or not is a scientific debate, not a theological one.
Young earth creationists use terms like this to terrify people into following their lead. They use loaded terms like “The bible literally says” or “if you dont believe its literal, where do you draw the line..”, and today the best one was, “I dont see any specific demarkation between myth and history, so its either myth, or history…”. Honestly, its tripe and shows extremely bad hermeneutical skills, let alone being tantamount to emotional and spiritual abuse. If you heard a school teacher teaching your child like that, you’d be on to the principal immediately to get them sorted out.
All Christians [should] believe that God caused all things to exist. This is clearly what the Bible sets out to teach us. What it DOES NOT attempt to do is explain the “hows” – the method… the science behind creation. Believing that Evolution is true or that there is an Intelligent Designer, etc, does not mean you are not a “creationist” – it just means that you believe a particular SCIENCE of creation, and this has NOT A JOT OF EFFECT ON YOUR THEOLOGY.
It should not matter to you if evolution is true, its science. It should not matter if the earth is young or old, its science. It should not matter if God went “poof” and everything just appeared. It should not matter if there was a big bang, or if there was not. The ONLY thing that matters is whether or not you believe there is a God, a God through whom all things came to exist, to whom we are responsible as the highest order of beings on the planet, to whom we need to be reconciled. Because this is what Genesis is trying to explain to you.
Omg, New metro is ugly…
