  == Biography ==William was born in England in 1851. He was the son of [[Mandeno-18|James Mandeno]] and [[Lloyd-2468|Jane Lloyd]]. He emigrated to NZ about 1855 with his parents, as a 4 year old, aboard the ship "Merchantsman". He married [[Snodgrass-1265|Mary Snodgrass]] in 1883. The couple went on to have several children. William had a distinguished life and this is extremely well documented in his obituary, published in the "Waipa Post" on the 28 May 1921, (see link in Sources below).
