== Biography ==
Joane was born in 1532 in Rattlesden, Suffolk, England.
She married probably about 1560 to Edmund Scott.[Holman, Mary Lovering,. Ancestry of Charles Stinson Pillsbury and John Sargent Pillsbury. unknown: unknown, 1938.]
Joane died in May 1615 in Rattlesden, Suffolk, England and was buried in the parish churchyard. == Disputed Parentage ==Joan's maiden name is unknown. What is known about her and her husband Edmund Scott can be found at the [http://minerdescent.com/2011/10/04/henry-scott/ Miner Descent] website
Many claim that Joan, wife of Edmund Scott, was the daughter of [[Howard-6|William Howard]], first Baron Howard but there's no proof of her parentage - her LNAB should be UNKNOWN.
* BTW: The derivation of the family name from Sir William Balliol, surnamed Le Scot, down six decends to John Scot, whose son was William Scot of Scot's Hall is disputed.
