- == Biography ==John, son of John and Abigail (Kimball) Severans, was born in Salisbury, Norfolk, Massachusetts Bay Colony on 24 Sepember 1647; He married Mary _____, of unknown origin, in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts Bay Colony on 15 August 1672; John,2 (John,1) Severans died in Bedford, New York (or Deerfield, Hampshire, Massachusetts) after 1713 or 1714
Currently his unsourced death in this profile occurred in Bedford, Westchester, New York Colony, however an 1893 text suggests that he removed to Bedford Massachusetts Bay Colony and at life's end he removed back to Deerfield around 1713-14 to end his days in the home of his son Joseph.
Another more compelling text [https://archive.org/details/yourancestorsnat13unse/page/242/mode/1up] has John and Mary in the 1710 Census of Bedford, New York with Mary Dibble their daughter, a widow. Also a land transaction between John Dibble and John Severans was effected on .... to be continued
John Jr. and Mary Severans were the parents of six known children, the first four might have been born in Boston, the last two were born in Connecticut.

=== Research Notes ===* first and foremost, John was born with the surname Severans, the births of his children were also recorded Severans, perhaps this profile's 'Last name at Birth' field entry should be updated. The last discovered primary source, Daniels 1694 was recorded with the name Severance.* secondly, the maiden name of Mary, John's wife, remains unknown. they married when John was age 25 and their children were born as was John in Salisbury. It is likely John and Mary married also in Salisnury. None of their children have middle names to signal Mary's origin, nor do their grandchildren.* a secondary source text titled 'The Severans : genealogical history' by Severance, John F. (John Franklin), b. 1817, comp has an entirely different take on the end of John Severan, Jr's life. It suggests he removed to Bedford from Deerfield, Massachusetts, then about 1713 or 1714 he returned to Deerfield and lived out his remaining days with his son Joseph [after 1714 Death for John Severans, Jr in "The Severns : Genealogical History," archive.org, text onine [https://archive.org/details/severansgenealog00seve/page/1/mode/1up?q=Deerfield Internet Archive pg. 1-1]]* in a family pedigree of cora jackson, john severance's wife is mary (unknown maiden name). His son Ebnezer also lists wife as Mary. I didn't enter it as I have no other information. Also I have his d.date as 1723 in family pedigree not 1682 as listed but same bdate.* Miller, Robert. “New York Colonial Manuscripts”, ''[[Space:The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record|The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record]]'' (NYGBS, 1907) Vol. 38, [https://archive.org/details/newyorkgenealogi1907gree/page/219 Page 219]: English MSS., XLII, Page 58.
