{{Nantucket Founders and Descendants Sticker|descendant|Tristram Coffin Sr}}John Coffin was born the fifth child of nine. His parents were [[Coffin-221|Tristram Coffin]] and [[Stephens-5781|Dionis Stephens]]. Like John, his older siblings (Peter, Tristam, Jr., Elizabeth, and James) were all born in England. John passed away at 13 months of age in Haverhill, Massachusetts. It was about 2 weeks before the first of his four younger siblings (Deborah, Mary and Lieut. John and Stephen) were born. Stephen was the only one of the four born in Newbury, Massachusetts.[ '''Coffin, Allen''', 1881. '''Louis Coffin''' recorded details about the siblings of John which included:[ '''Coffin, Louis''' [https://archive.org/details/coffinfamilywith00coff/page/92/mode/1up Page 92]. ]* John had one sibling, Deborah, that died young within her first month of life. She passed away about six weeks after John's passing. The rest of his siblings all lived to marry.* About five years after John's passing, his parents named their next son, John, who married Deborah Austin and lived into his fifties.
