  == Research Notes ==Still researching, but I not longer believe that Robert was not a son of Edmund Bryan and Margery Courtenay, but was the son of Sir Francis Bryan, possibly he was the illegitimate son that Sir Francis sent a message by. So many different families list Robert being the son of Sir Francis Brayn and Phillippa Spice Forescue, in for sources I'm not finding any as I look today. I seem to remember some had listed a source in the library in Salt Lake City. I need to keep looking for sources. This is still being researched, but this is what I believe about Robert Bryan. Robert was born about 1532 most likely at Tor Brian in Devon area. Known as Robert Bryan of Tor Brian. 1. Father is uncertain. 2. Records of Sir Francis Bryan and Phillippa Montgomery Spice show that they had only a son Edmund Bryan Esq of Tor Brian. Phillippa had a son Henry Fortescue with 1st husband John. Sir Francis had another son, Francis Bryan II by 2nd wife Lady Joan. in Several ref. Sir Francis is listed as step-father of Henry and his claim to the family property of Phillippa was held it trust for him until after the death of Sir Francis.3.
