=== Disputed Origin ===: There is speculation that Ann, the wife of John Doan was the daughter of John Perkins and his wife, Judith Gater. However, it's very unlikely that they are her parents as John Perkyns was baptised on 23 December 1583 at Hillmorton, Warwickshire, England,"England, Warwickshire Parish Registers, 1535-1984," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XXL3-LL9 : 24 December 2014), John Perkyns, 23 Dec 1583, Christening; citing Hillmorton, Warwickshire, England, Record Office, Warwick; FHL microfilm 554,754. and he married Judith Gater on 9 October 1608 at Hillmorton."England Marriages, 1538–1973 ," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NVWP-LQD : 10 December 2014), John Pyrkyns and Judith Gater, 09 Oct 1608; citing Hillmorton,Warwick,England, reference ; FHL microfilm 554,754. Anderson's Great Migration Begins says the last name at birth of John Doan's wife is not known.Plimoth Plantation and New England Historical Genealogical Society, "A genealogical profile of John Doane", www.PlymouthAncestors.org
: There was an Anne, daughter of Thoms Pyrkyns, baptised on 25 September 1614 at Hillmorton."England, Warwickshire Parish Registers, 1535-1984," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XXL3-BTY : 24 December 2014), Anne Pyrkyns, 25 Sep 1614, Christening; citing Hillmorton, Warwickshire, England, Record Office, Warwick; FHL microfilm 554,754. Also an Anne, daughter of John Pyrkins, baptised on 5 September 1617 at Hillmorton,"England, Warwickshire Parish Registers, 1535-1984," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XXL3-18J : 24 December 2014), Anne Pyrkins, 05 Sep 1617, Christening; citing Hillmorton, Warwickshire, England, Record Office, Warwick; FHL microfilm 554,754. (see her WikiTree profile). However, neither of these would have been old enough to have a child in 1625.
: Ann was not one of the passengers listed on the Lyon, although John Perkins of Hillmorton, Warwickshire, was listed along with: Mrs. Judith Perkins, John Perkins, Elizabeth Perkins, Mary Perkins, Thomas Perkins and Jacob Perkins.
----
: Ann, whose maiden name and parents are unknown, was the first wife of John Doane. They were married by 1625. Anderson (Great Migration) points out that in 1648 Ann and John signed a deed, so they were married by then, and by 1625 if she was the mother of all of Doane's children. : John migrated from England to the colony of Plymouth in 1630, although the name of the ship on which he traveled is unknown. Anne and their oldest child, Lydia, probably traveled with him.
: Children of John and (probably) Ann Doane:#Lydia, born about 1625, married Samuel Hicks at Plymouth on 11 September 1645;#Abigail, born about 1631, died at Norwich, Connecticut, on 23 January 1734/5, married Samuel Lothrop;#John, born about 1635, died on 15 March 1707/8, married 1) Hannah Bangs at Eastham on 30 April, and 2) Rebecca Pette on 14 January 1684/5; #Daniel, born about 1637, died at Eastham on 20 December 1712, married 1) Unknown by 1669 and 2) Hepsibah (Cole) Crispe after 28 July 1682; #Ephraim, born about 1642, died at Eastham in 1700, married 1) Mercy Knowles at Eastham on 5 February 1667/8 and 2) Mary (Smalley) Snow as her second husband after April 1692;
: Ann died by 1659 at which time John remarried, by 1 April 1659, to Lydia whose last name is also unknown.
