== Biography ==
He was born by about 1592 based on date of first marriage. Of Eastland, presumably that region around Danzig, now part of Poland. But was in Leiden, Holland by his first marriage in 1617; he sailed in 1623 on the ''Anne,'' resided in Plymouth; was a hatter.
He was one of the native Dutch who joined the Pilgrims and went to New England.[Young's Pilgrim Fathers,'' pp 392-93]
