== Biography ==SAMUEL GODBERTSON, the only known child of Godbert and Sarah (Allerton)(Priest) Godbertson, was born in Leiden about 1622. He placed himself as an apprentice to Richard Higgins, tailor, for seven years on 1 Apr 1634 [PCR 1:29]; remainder of apprenticeship, until 1 April 1641, transferred to John Smalley, 31 Aug 1639 [PCR 1:129]; apparently married by about 1657 to ____. The only evidence that Samuel Godbertson, son of Godbert Godbertson, married is the death at Middleborough on 17 April 1699 of "Samuell Cutbird aged about 42 years" [MiddleVR 1:3], who was born at the right time to be son of Samuel Godbertson.[Anderson, Robert Charles. Immigrated in 1623 with his parents and step-sisters aboard the ''Anne'' and named on the 1627 Plymouth Cattle Division.
He was also known as Samuel Cuthbertson or shortened to Cuthbert.
