This is a very important document because it names all the members of each household, including the names of women and children -- making it in essence a complete census of 1627 Plymouth.
William Bradford's 1650/1 list of increasings noted that "... Bartle is married in England but I know not how many children he hath."
Batholomew returned to England, by 1639. He settled in Bramfield, co. Suffolk, where he was appointed to the cure of Bramfield vicarage on 17 Mar 1644/5, in place of the sequestered minister Thomas Wright. 22 Apr 1645 he was ordered to be examined for the sequestration of Bramfield. In 1645, the [[Wikipedia:Committee for Plundered Ministers|Committee for Plundered Ministers]] appointed Bartholomew as vicar of Bramfield.[Johnson, Caleb, Sue Allen and Simon Neal. "The Origin and Parentage of Mayflower Passenger Isaac Allerton in East Bergholt, Suffolk," published in ''The New England Historical and Genealogical Register'', (Boston, MA:NEHGS), Vol. 173, Summer 2019, pages 197-205 (not available online).]
Bartholomew left behind several English records, including a couple of letters to Sir Philip Percival; a chancery lawsuit in 1657; and his will dated 15 October 1658. *"4 April, 1646. ''The English Ancestry and Homes of the Pilgrim Fathers'' Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc. 1976, pages 20-30.] mentions that "A chancery suit of 1657 in which Bartholomew Allerton was a defendant relates to property in Suffolk, the parties being residents in Norfolk."
