- == Biography ==
Sarah was most likely born before 1715 based upon her marriage date. She and Benjamin announced their intentions to marry in Plympton on 23 Nov 1731.[The Massachusetts Vital Records Project, Early Vital Records of Massachusetts From 1600 to 1850, Town of Plympton Marriage records]
She passed away in 1755. [Mayflower Families through Five Generations, Vol 8 and 17]
===Research Notes===#The Records of William Spooner and Genealogy of the Cushman both wrongly state that this Sarah was the daughter of Isaac and Sarah (Gibbs) Cushman, b 2 Dec 1709. This is not valid according to the Mayflower Families v 17 reference and to the NEHGR reference.[The New England Historical and Genealogical Register, Vol. 123, pp 136-7] . #A point of confusion regarding Benjamin Spooner's and Sarah's marriage is that there are conflicting sources for Benjamin Spooner's first marriage, namely, this record of his first marriage names Mary Cushman as his bride (6 Nov 1731 intentions in Dartmouth, MA).["Massachusetts State Vital Records, 1841-1925", database with images, FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FHCG-M59 : 29 December 2022), Mary Cushman in entry for Benjamin Spooner, 1731.] This other record documents his marriage to Sarah Cushman on 23 Nov 1731 in Plympton, MA.[Vital records of Plympton, Massachusetts, to the year 1850, Marriages, pg 399]
