John Cushman was poor and landless. The town of Plympton frequently gave him aid starting 12 Oct 1741 and ending 9 May 1760 when he was still living. The town paid his wife's doctor bills 16 Nov 1747 and then she is no longer in the records.
=== Children ===Born at Plympton[Mayflower Births and Deaths, Vol. 1 and 2] These are the children listed in The Cushman Genealogy, but there is little proof, other than Eleazer's baptism.#[[Cushman-887|Eleazer Cushman]], son of John, bpt at Plympton 19 Oct 1740 as an adult#[[Cushman-650|Charles Cushman Sr.]] b. before 1719; m. *An unidentified [[Cushman-889|James Cushman]] who married at Lebanon, Connecticut, 8 May 1745 Levina Downer probably belongs to this family. (Attached to this profile and marked uncertain parents)
