DeChristianising Holidays

So its like this, there’s all these people out there trying to “dechristianise” our holidays, easter, christmas etc. Its funny though, if you told these politicians and activists that they had to work on these days, there’d be an uproar.

They want their cake and eat it too. I guess they might try and change easter to “chocolate egg holiday” and Christmas to “family food day” or something, but the reeality is, the meaning in the holiday is from its Christian roots, and without its Christian roots, there is no holiday.

And it looks like we have a National led government.

I guess I dont really have an issue with it, except that I dont think New Zealand voted for intelligent reasons. I think we voted out of fear, and thats NEVER a good reason to do anything, unless of course, you’re being chased by a grizzly bear and you run 😛

Its a scary day for us. We dont want the socialist “dark green” lefties in, but we dont really want the useless national party either. What can we do?

There has to be a change, no denying that, and we only have one real option. With MMP though, we can “temper” National by giving votes to parties such as Act, United Future, etc, who if they have some power, can put pressure on National. The problem is you can end up with a “lame duck” parliament, where nothing gets done.

I was interested to note that MMP was the system used to cripple the German government after WWII so as to prevent any one party having power.

well, i moved away from google (blogger) because I can run my own site nicely on this server.

I also wanted to see if wordpress was “all that” – its decent, but its not user friendly enough for some of my customers, so… its ok for me 😛
